Q: Why was MoBoo created?
MoBoo was created to help people discover books they will actually enjoy, support families who want to guide children’s reading, give individual readers a smarter way to find books for themselves, and connect quality books with readers around the world.

Q: Does MoBoo work offline?
An internet connection is required to read books.
For Parents

Yes. MoBoo continues to support parent-managed child reading, including child profiles, topic controls, and progress visibility.
Q: How do I manage my child’s account?
Each account supports 1 child profile on the free plan and up to 4 child profiles on the premium plan. Switching between child and parent views should remain simple, with parent access protected by a passcode where applicable.

Opt-Out Topics allow parents to reduce or avoid certain themes or subjects in recommendations for a child account.
For Individual Readers

Yes. Version 4 supports individual readers as well as parent-managed child accounts. You can set up MoBoo for your own reading interests and receive personalized recommendations, track progress, and join reading quests.
Q: What can I do as an individual reader?
Individual readers can discover books matched to their interests, read free classics, track progress, join quests and challenges, use read-aloud support where available, and build a more personalized reading experience over time.

No. If you are using MoBoo for yourself, you can set up directly as an individual reader.

Safety & Security
Q: How is MoBoo safe for children?
- Only professional educator reviews (no user-generated content)
- Parental passcode for settings
- Curated, age-appropriate catalog with 8 reading-level bands
- Screened ads in the free version
Q: Are ads safe?
Yes. Ads are limited and child-appropriate, usually a short video before reading begins.
Q: What happens to my data when I delete my MoBoo account?
When you delete your MoBoo account, we permanently remove all personal information that identifies you or your children — including names, emails, account IDs, and any device links.
However, we may retain anonymous usage data (for example, the number of books read, average reading time, or common interests) that can no longer be traced back to you. This helps us understand overall reading trends and continue improving MoBoo’s recommendations for all families.
This approach is standard across educational and reading platforms — it protects your privacy while allowing us to make MoBoo smarter and more helpful for everyone.
How to delete your MoBoo account:
- Log into your Parent Account.
- Tap the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner.
- Select “Delete My Account”.
- Answer the confirmation question.

Once confirmed, your account and all identifiable data are permanently erased, and the process cannot be undone.
